Contract Healthcare Recruiter - Pharmacy

Overview

Ascend Sync is partnering with Legacy Community Health, the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, to find a Contract Healthcare Recruiter who can step in quickly and support urgent pharmacy hiring needs. Legacy operates more than 50 clinics across the Greater Houston and Gulf Coast region and has delivered comprehensive, affordable care for nearly 40 years. This is a long-term contract engagement at $35/hour, with the potential to convert to a permanent role in the future, most likely in 2027. The role is remote, but candidates based in the Houston area are strongly preferred: Legacy's Pharmacy team gathers periodically and enjoys including the recruiter in person, and you may also represent Legacy at pharmacy school career fairs around Houston. Applicants outside the Houston area are welcome to apply and are encouraged to share why the role is a strong fit for them; because local candidates are prioritized, response times for non-local applicants may be somewhat longer. Your day will blend outreach, screening, follow-up, and collaboration as you keep searches moving and expectations clear. You'll use web-based recruiting tools and an applicant tracking system to stay organized, deliver a strong candidate experience, and represent a mission-driven healthcare opportunity with professionalism and honesty. Key responsibilities

• Recruit for pharmacy and pharmacy-related roles in support of critical healthcare hiring needs.
• Partner closely with hiring managers to understand priorities, align on expectations, and provide consultative recruiting support.
• Source, screen, and engage qualified candidates using web-based recruiting tools and an applicant tracking system.
• Maintain organized workflows and consistent follow-up throughout the hiring process.
• Deliver a positive, responsive candidate experience from initial outreach through final communication.
• Represent Legacy at pharmacy school career fairs around the Houston area.
• Participate in periodic in-person gatherings with Legacy's Pharmacy team.
• Promote the opportunity in a compelling, accurate, and mission-aligned way.
• Help keep searches moving by balancing urgency, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• You have direct recruiting experience, ideally within healthcare settings.
• You have experience recruiting for pharmacy roles or can clearly demonstrate transferable experience supporting pharmacy-related hiring.
• You are comfortable using web-based recruiting tools, including an applicant tracking system, to manage candidates and workflow.
• You communicate in a consultative, professional way when partnering with hiring managers.
• You can show strong candidate follow-up habits and a commitment to a positive candidate experience.
• You bring a customer-service mindset that is approachable, responsive, and solution-oriented.
• You can present a mission-driven healthcare opportunity honestly and effectively to candidates.
• Houston-area based candidates are strongly preferred, given periodic in-person team gatherings and local career fair representation; candidates outside the area are still encouraged to apply.
